Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME generic extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At first, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to book john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can buy your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to modify the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar company and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. There are no special rules on who can register a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.

The dot NAME universal top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the right spelling in your native language.
