Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is employed to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message is sent from one email, but to look as being sent from another one, generally with the idea to scam the recipient for some reason. When SPF protection is activated for a domain name, an exclusive record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record contains all of the mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an email address within the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted destination. When, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the particular domain, the email message won't be submitted and it'll be removed. When you employ this service, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam messages which look as if they have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud platform with just a few mouse-clicks. The function is available in the Emails section of our cutting-edge Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to enable it is to choose one of your domain names from the drop-down list and then enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be approved to send messages from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the emails to be sent from your domain name only when it has our MX records, in other words when our servers manage the email addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This feature gives you the highest standard of protection, but it's not applicable if only your website is on our servers while your e-mail addresses for the domain are managed in a different place. In either case, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses secure from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is provided with all our Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages, will provide you with an extremely intuitive interface to activate the SPF protection service for every domain that you host within your new account. Several clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that and you will only have to type in the hostname and the IP address of the mail server which will be allowed to send out messages from your e-mails. In case the email messages are managed on our end and not by a different provider, you'll be able to raise the security level even more and benefit from an option for all the outgoing e-mails to be sent only if your domains use our MX records. This option provides you with increased control and it will eliminate any possibility of someone forging your emails with the intention of spamming and / or scamming people. It is not applicable in case only your web site is on our modern cloud hosting platform, while your e-mail addresses are managed by another service provider. If you aren't sure what features to choose, our technical support crew will assist you 24/7.
