A: When your present hosting provider can no longer satisfy the demands of your web site, or if you experience constant downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the technical support team to respond back to you, it might be smart to change your provider, i.e. to migrate all the files for your websites along with your databases from your present provider to your future provider. At Ikaros Web Hosting, we are aware that this can be hard & time–consuming. That’s the reason why we will accomplish all that for you for free!Our skilled technical team will migrate your web site content from your present provider to us. Our techs have got plenty of experience migrating web sites and can handle everything – from an ordinary WordPress–driven blog or Joomla^™–driven website, to an extremely complex, custom–built application.

A: While we cannot give you a precise time frame, because there are many factors, among them the size of the web files and databases, the physical location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your web site and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll give our very best to move your site within 48h, and in some cases – within 24h (if the content is not very large).

A: We don’t gather any information that is personal. We will need, however, the login information for your present web hosting account and the name of the website that you’d like to migrate.

A: Client privacy is indeed one of our top priorities – because of this, both our payment transaction page and our Control Panel login page are protected with enterprise–level digital certificates. We use security measures, which include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and administrative methods to secure the details that we gather on the web. And we have a detailed and rigorous Privacy Policy, which specifies the types of information that we gather.

A: No. Your website will stay fully operational during the transfer. Once everything is completed on our end, we will let you know so that you can examine it and check for problems. If everything’s alright, all you will need to do is edit your domain’s DNS records.

A: While we migrate your website content, your hosting provider will not be aware of the transfer at all. We will not touch base with them in any way.

A: We support all Linux–based web hosting platforms. Generally, if we can obtain access to your Control Panel, we will be able to migrate your site.The only platforms that we do not support are closed–source site creation platforms like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
